Thanks for Playing

Ladies & Gentleman, Thanks for playing
It was fun while it lasted
But let's all be honest
This wasn't going anywhere
No one was going to win
No prizes were to be awarded
Zero was your chance of success
You put up a good fight
I've never seen someone work so hard
But at the end of the day
It doesn't make the least bit of difference
Because everyone's going home empty handed

  1. :( This poem is really good! The message, however, is a little dismal. Of course, I know exactly who the subject is: not a group of "Ladies and Gentleman", but a friend I know very well. Everyone may be "going home empty handed", but maybe that's the way things were meant to work out. As a fellow athiest, I don't believe in god, but I belive in a mysterious fate that takes presense over us; maybe even some strange instinct inside of us. But regardless, everything will work out, Joe. Perhaps not the way you may invision, but take my word on this.
